Cards Terminology

Project

A Project is a coordinated body of work with a defined outcome. It contains Cards and the relationships between them.

Card

A Card is a specific unit of coordination. Depending on its type, it may represent work, review, a deliverable, a meeting, a question, or help needed to remove a blocker.

Card chain

A Card chain is the connected path work follows. For example, an Action Card may lead to Review, then Deliverable, then Client Review.

Ready

A Ready Card can be acted on now. A Card may remain Not Ready while a required predecessor or decision is unfinished.

Complete

Complete means the Card's stated outcome and completion criteria have been met. Completing one Card can make the next Card in its chain ready.

Stack, Pressure, and Load

  • **Stack** answers: What should I act on now?
  • **Pressure** answers: What constraint needs a decision or intervention?
  • **Load** answers: How do commitments compare with available capacity?

Help and Support

A **Help Card** coordinates help needed inside project work. **Cards Support** handles questions or problems with the Cards product through a Support Exchange. They are different workflows.
